Primary Teaching Assistant SEN

We are currently seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Barking and Dagenham. The role involves supporting a year 2 boy who has a diagnosis of ASC, is pre-verbal, and requires adult support to perform basic self-help skills such as eating. The student also requires to be spoon-fed, has not yet been toilet trained, and exhibits challenging behaviours such as throwing objects, pinching, hitting motions, and sporadic biting attempts.

Requirements:-

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASC

‍Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Valid DBS check
